Shani completed a B.A. in Psychology and Education at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and a M.A. in Clinical Child Psychology at Bar Ilan University. Today, Shani is a Ph.D. student in the School of Psychological Science and the University of Haifa’s Interdisciplinary Doctoral Excellence Program (IDIT). Shani’s Ph.D. research is focused on the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of a web-based mobile-supported mental health intervention technology designed to promote trauma recovery and mental health among forcibly displaced persons. Her interest and research fall at the intersection of global health, clinical psychology, social and cultural studies, law and human rights, contemplative science, as well as computer science, and will be conducted with multidisciplinary partners inside and outside of academia. Shani is also a teaching assistant for B.A. courses in Abnormal Psychology and Research Methods.
