Biographical Sketch

Romi completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at Ben Gurion University and graduate studies in medical psychology at The Academic College of Tel Aviv–Yafo. Romi is currently completing a post-MA thesis in the Observing Minds Lab at the University of Haifa. Romi is also a Medical Psychology Intern in the Orthopedics Department (Pediatrics), Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center.

Romi’s main research interests involve theory, measurement, and therapeutic approaches to mindfulness and compassion, and their mechanisms of action. Romi’s thesis research is focused on the role of guilt and shame in trauma recovery among asylum seekers, and the role of a mindfulness- and compassion-based intervention to therapeutically impact guilt and shame in trauma recovery among this population.
